06/07/16 Summer camps
The Janice Center will offer Kidnastics, Art, Acting and Music Together this summer, starting July 5. The Kidnastics, Children\\'s Acting and Art Camps are scheduled so your child can take all three from 9 a.m. until 12 noon. Kidnastics is available for ages 4-6, Art/Paint for ages 5-8 and Children\\'s Acting for ages 4-7 and a separate class for 8-12.
The Music Together Camp is offered for children 0-5 (with a parent/adult) and will take place from July 11-27 on Monday and Wednesdays (11-11:45 a.m.). There will be a total of six classes.
Our Children\\'s Acting classes will be taught by Catherine Peters,a working actor in NYC. She graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts with a degree in Drama. She will be offering a one-week program (July 5-8) for ages 4-7 and 8-12 introducing them to acting through writing, drawing, movement and speech. The week will conclude with a performance at The Janice Center.
Kidnastics participants learn a range of tumbling moves including somersalts, cartwheels, handsprings, tucks and roundoffs as well as balance, music, movement and more. Taught by Ashlea Prouty, a trained physical education instructor with years of experience in gymnastics
The Art/Paint class will be taught by Robin Nervegna. Participants discover their inner artist by learning drawing and painting techniques, producing several finished pieces. Fun, creative and expressive!
